Where Does It Say...

Where does it say that you can only do one thing at a time? I've been retired for 3 1/2 years now, and I'm still finding new things to spend my time on. Between volunteering, working in politics, writing, crocheting, painting, traveling, reading, and gardening (when my husband makes me!), I can't pin myself down to one activity, no matter how hard I try!
At any given time, I have no less than three projects running simultaneously, I have several writing projects in progress, I'm planning my next Instagram post, and making up an itinerary for my next trip.
Brain research says that multitasking is a myth, that the brain simply can't handle doing more than a few things at a time...well, at least not well, anyway. I. don't. care. At my age (mumble mumble), I'm going to try, go, do, create, make, read, ride, play, work, teach, as much as I can for as long as I can. It's what will keep me young, make me wise, and give me strength and courage in a world that doesn't value age as much as youth and beauty.
So, the heck with slowing down. The heck with only doing one thing. One of these days, I just might find perfection, but I doubt it. It's too much fun just trying to find my joy!
